What’s going on in life…

  • This Month I’d Like To…

-Build or purchase a cabinet for my 6 video gaming consoles.
    -Cook more often.
-Take Cali to get an exam and spayed.
    -Get a new cell phone.
    -Have my parents over (finally).
-Install the cat door into the litter closet downstairs.

    What I Did Last Month:
-I DID see a couple of movies at the theater.
-I DID give the kitties a bath, except for Biggs and Ozzie.
-I DID organize my closets upon moving in.
-I DIDN'T have the money to put in savings last month.
-I DID learn some new recipes.
-I DIDN'T finish vet tech online, but will be attending a campus in the fall.
-I DID buy Coldplay's new album.

Happy Halloween!

Posted by imaginebliss on October 31, 2008

While listening to the radio earlier this week, I heard quite an interesting commercial between songs. I had no idea I would be faced with such a dilemma of deciding what to give trick-or-treaters! I was thinking some good, old fashioned, mini snickers bars or dummy suckers would do the job. But Trader Joe’s has informed me of the new hip treat to give children on Hallow’s Eve. Click the link below, scroll to Connecticut and click Play. Enjoy this ridiculous ad and try to think of any children of trick-or-treating age you know who would actually accept this treat and not egg your house afterward!

Who Do I Think I Am?

Posted by imaginebliss on October 3, 2008

Coming on here and writing my ideas like I know something about anything. I know nothing. Life can’t be understood fully. I like to sound smart. I like to sound like I know what I’m talking about. I just write what I see, and then critique what I write.
I always go back through my blogs and think “Sheesh I’m so arrogant.” I try too hard to write about things other than my cats.
I don’t consider myself egotistical, but when it comes to being smart I pride myself on that. I’m glad I don’t sucker money out of businesses for not instructing that I can’t actually leave the wheel and make myself a sandwich when I set my Winnebago to cruise control. I’m glad I can look at a situation and think “Gee, this may not be such a good idea to take the lid off hot coffee and set it between my legs while driving.” Living in a world where people’s intelligence is challenged on a daily basis makes me feel a little better about my own competence.
And I think a lot of people take advantage of that. People don’t realize what a blessing it is that they are at least decent enough to clean their houses when it gets dirty, or smart enough to give their infants milk bottles instead of beer bottles.
So in answer to my question, I think I am smart. I don’t think I am anybody. I am part of society and that makes me a speck in the universe. And I have the mind to inquire and reflect.

Pretenders and Observers

Posted by imaginebliss on October 2, 2008

Many people today put off an impression that seems fake. And others who observe them tag them as such. Observers think that other people are happy for stupid and superficial reasons, and that they are blind to the world around them. It is easy to get caught up in that delusion. But here is truth.

Pretenders all have their own lives. It’s easy to say someone doesn’t know what hardship is, when the only hardship we know is our own. Everyone has a family member that has betrayed them, a friend who has taken advantage of them, fears, weaknesses, vulnerabilities, anger, pain, and with all that comes their own ways of hiding/dealing it. Whether that be shopping, drinking, working, eating, exercising, sleeping, showering, playing video games, screaming into their pillow, or just crying, everyone deals with pain accordingly.

Observers tend to be cynical. Because pretenders don’t show their misery in what they chose to do, they appear happy and observers take this appearance as fake. Saying “they don’t know what’s really going on, everything in their lives is picture perfect.” If people were to show what was really going on in their lives when everyone at the grocery store sees them, the world would be even more depressing. People need to have some kind of light in life. Smiling when you don’t even feel like it makes you happier in the moment. It’s okay to treat yourself to something expendable once in a while. Some people run and hide from their problems. Other people pretend to be happy for the sake of everyone else.

I don’t know what I’m really trying to say here. I just have ideas that sometimes don’t come very clearly, but there is a message to it. If you are an observer, observe yourself. Your life sucks in some way, and you do something to mask it. Stop spiting at people who chose to be happy despite their pain in life.

If you are a pretender, remember you still have feelings and you can’t bury them forever. It will surface one day and attempt to over run you. Do not engage in things in your attempt to ignore temporary pain that will eventually add more. Ex: shopping too much-debt, drinking too much-addiction, sleeping too much-depression, eating too much-overweight, etc.

Just wanted to get this down somewhere. Thanks.
